Hide AdFleetlands welcomed skipper Tommy Woodward back from a three-game suspension, while Robinson and Perry Easton were also available again after missing the midweek 0-0 stalemate at Moneyfields Reserves.
‘Tommy is our leader,’ said Bessey. ‘What he will give you, that some players won’t, is 100 per cent energy. It was his first game for four months but he still came through the 90 minutes.’
There was also a start for right-back Josh Chandler, one of the stand-out performers in the Fleetlands reserve team currently topping the East Division of the Hampshire Combination.
‘We’re looking a lot sharper now,’ said Bessey.
‘Hayling are a young side and their energy levels are so high, so it was a hard game.
‘There’s no big players at Hayling, there’s no arrogance.

Andrews netted the only goal of the first half before Adams - dual registered from Wessex Leaguers Romsey after scoring over 30 HPL goals for Colden Common in 2019/20 - came off the bench to double the lead.
Adams also provided an assist for Robinson to complete the scoring.
Fleetlands will move level on points with group leaders Locks Heath if they can avenge a 1-0 home loss in their opening cup tie with victory at Locks on Wednesday.
