Falklands flag flies in Portsmouth to mark the end of the deadly war
Veterans from the conflict gathered in Guildhall Square to witness a flag-raising ceremony in salute of those killed in the conflict.
Civic leaders from the city, as well as a representative from the island, witnessed the brief service yesterday morning.
It came on the 24th anniversary of the end of the war.

Hide AdCity council leader Donna Jones hopes the event will grow into an annual commemoration in Portsmouth.
She said: ‘Events like this mean a lot to so many people.
‘The people of Portsmouth are very proud of their military heritage and of commemorations like today’s.’
