Community treated to look behind scenes at sea rescue crews
The GAFIRS Day, now in its 12th year, gave people the chance to have a look behind the scenes at the work involved in saving lives.
The 50 members of GAFIRS contribute 10,000 hours of their time a year to help save lives.

Hide AdJake Robinson, community director, said: ‘We had a lot of people turn-up for the event and find out more about what we do, as well as our partners who help us in saving lives.
‘It’s a good opportunity for people to see how our operation runs and look at our cutting edge technology and see a real life simulation of saving someone at sea.
‘We appreciate all the support we get from the community. We are all volunteers from all walks of life.’
Partners involved at the event included HM Coastguard, Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, South Central Ambulance Service, Ramora UK, Safer Gosport Community Team, National Coastwatch and Gosport Tourist Information Office.
