ASTRONAUT Tim Peake calls his parents every week from space, his dad revealed.

It comes as pupils quizzed Westbourne resident Tim’s father Nigel at Mayville High School in Southsea yesterday.

Nigel told pupils: ‘He calls home on Sundays and we can email him,’ adding: ‘He called his sister on New Year’s Eve and said “Hello, planet Earth”, but he had the wrong number and called a poor woman in Chichester who had no idea who he was.’

Ginny Williams, 10, asked: ‘What is the clumsiest thing that Tim Peake has ever done?’

His dad replied: ‘Every morning when Tim went to school, he went to a neighbour’s house where he got a lift, but not before he had trodden in the cat’s bowl.’
