Take a look inside Southsea's historic landmark hotel as it gets a major upgradeÂ
The Queen's Hotel, in Southsea, is undergoing a renovation and work has started to refurbish its 68 rooms. A designer has been drafted in and is modernising the bedrooms. Â
The hotel was taken over in March 2017 by three private investors, who have put money into the venue in a bid to restore it to its former glory.Â

The work has seen the reception upgraded and restored, with offices moved and the toilets renovated. The restaurant has been redecorated, with original floor boards revealed, and the bar is planned for a refurbishment early next year.
Amanda said: '˜The reception is looking absolutely beautiful. It is a beautiful focal point. We have opened it up so people can see the views.'   Â
The hotel was built in 1860 and was the city's second hotel, behind the Portland. It suffered great fire damage in 1901 but was rebuilt in 1903.Â

It also hopes to install a spa in the basement next year.Â
